Corstorphine & Wright was appointed to oversee the design and construction of a new Battery Development Facility, the first of its kind in Europe, and lead the design and delivery of the internal fit out.
UKBIC (UK Battery Industrialisation Centre) is an open access, state of the art facility to develop the processes to transition the UK to be a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of batteries.
We worked directly with the newly formed company to develop a strategic process layout, and then created a class-leading internal fit-out programme to allow motor-industry partners to run exclusive development programmes from the site.
The £129m, 18,000sqm facility provides concept to realisation facilities for cutting edge battery technologies in a high-quality environment.
