Corstorphine & Wright were appointed by McLaren Property following the success of The Oaks Phase 1 to develop a larger adjacent site, adding to the existing accommodation to create a ‘student village’.
Phases 2 and 3 provides a further 639 student residences, including accommodation for the neighbouring NMSC (National Mathematics and Science College).
The development takes advantage of the natural setting, placed between established treelines to the east and west. Ranging in height from four to six storeys, the buildings are placed around three private courtyards, providing secure external space for residents, spilling out from the ground floor amenity that includes social learning, gym and wellness facilities and private dining.
A restrained palette of high-quality materials provide continuity across the suite of buildings and provide an architectural language that will stand the test of time.
Together with The Oaks Phase 1, the development introduces a sustainable, residential use on the doorstep of Warwick University in a location in need of regeneration.
