The Oaks Coventry, UK
The Oaks is a brand new, purpose built, student residence for McLaren Property. The scheme provides 378 student bedrooms and amenity spaces on a site that previously housed a vacant office building.
With demand for student accommodation in the region increasing due to the recent growth of both Coventry and Warwick University, The Oaks offers high quality accommodation solution whilst boosting the retail and leisure economy within the immediate locality.
The Oaks offers something different to students.
As the only purpose built student accommodation adjacent to the 750 acre University of Warwick campus, the project had to deliver.
Emphasis was placed on the student amenity spaces, so included is a gym, roof top garden terrace, games room, TV room, 3 quiet study rooms. In and around the large ground floor break out area there are group study areas, quiet study pods, and a bookable kitchen and dining space for student celebrations and events. Externally, there are green landscaped areas offering opportunities for student walks and well being.
All encompassing accommodation
Over the 7 storey building, student accommodation is provided in generous self contained studios and ensuite cluster rooms sharing, kitchen and lounges.
The project aims to offer everything a student may need during their studies from the complex, to the simple things such as a secure bike store and onsite laundry.
During the project’s successful delivery, Corstorphine & Wright was appointed to design and deliver Phases 2 and 3 of the Oaks to create a further 639 student bedrooms. Both of which are on site and progressing well.
