The British Horse Society Headquarters Warwickshire, UK
Located in Stoneleigh Deer Park in the green belt of Warwickshire countryside, this bespoke office building is a truly sustainable development.
The site housed the previous offices of the British Horse Society who considered moving to the National Agricultural Centre at nearby Stoneleigh Park following an accommodation review. However, an appraisal of the potential of their existing site was undertaken which enabled the Society to remain at Stoneleigh Deer Park.
The building form is circular in plan and dramatically wraps around a veteran oak tree. The building is clad in European Oak strips to bring natural colours to the building. The development has a green roof and a sustainable urban drainages system (SUDS) at the heart of the design strategy. Â
The project completed in September 2010 and has a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating and an EPC rating of B.Â
