Rampion Offshore Wind Newhaven, UK
Corstorphine & Wright was originally commissioned by E.ON (RWE) to carry out a port assessment and feasibility study on two port locations to determine the most suitable site for a new on-shore O&M facility, including berthing and quayside activities. Following our report Newhaven was selected.
We were then appointed to carry out the design for the ‘temporary’ modular offices for the Wind Farm Construction Team for the off-shore construction. This included the demolition of some existing buildings, construction of new secure parting and a compound of offices, storage and welfare facilities. This project also included a ‘temporary’ birthing facility.
Simultaneously we were designing the new O&M facility to accommodate 37,000sq.ft of new offices, control room and warehouse facilities. The building was designed as a ‘headquarters building’ for Rampion Offshore Wind with high quality flexible offices, meeting rooms and welfare facilities with access to external spaces giving unique views towards the wind farm.
We also worked closely with the Client’s appointed Structural, Civil and Marine Consultant to deliver works to the Quayside which included quay wall improvement works, quayside cranes and new pontoons to serve the O&M team. The project involved working with the Port and Local Authorities on a prominent site at the entrance to the Port.
Every project starts with a conversation.
