Holloway Head Birmingham, UK
Holloway Head regenerates a derelict 1.4 acre brownfield site in Birmingham City Centre to create 485 high quality PRS apartments helping to cater to the growing demand for rental property in the area.
Corstorphine & Wright is working with Invesco to bring forward Holloway Head, one of Birmingham’s largest PRS schemes in the city. The landmark site, just ten minutes walk from Birmingham New Street Station, has previously remained vacant for more than 25 years. Its redevelopment will continue the wider regeneration of Birmingham City Centre through the Big City Plan.
The contemporary design features four blocks ranging from 10 to 16 storeys which accommodates the challenging, steeply sloping topography of a 13m drop across the site.
The 485 apartments are divided as 132 one bedroom, 344 two bedroom, and 9 three bedroom apartments.
The scheme offers generous and wide ranging resident’s amenity space which includes a media lounge, co-working spaces, formal lounges, dining area, gym, landscaped courtyards and roof terraces. At ground floor 3,660 sq.ft of commercial space is offered to create street level activation.
A new Girl Guides headquarters is being built on the south site as they vacate from their existing HQ building; Trefoil House, located on the north end of the site. Their new up to date home will contain multiple activity rooms, a common room, large main hall and a shop.
Construction has commenced, with Phase 1 due to complete in 2024, with Phase 2 completing at the beginning of 2025.
