Corstorphine & Wright is proud to announce that construction has officially commenced on Meadowcroft Lodge, a £23 million extra care housing development in Guildford, Surrey. This innovative project aims to support older people in living independently for longer.
A groundbreaking ceremony held on 27 February marked the beginning of the construction, which is being delivered in partnership with Surrey County Council, Places for People, and developers Bmor. CField Construction has been appointed to carry out the build, with development management support from Trigon.
Meadowcroft Lodge will offer 59 one and two bedroom apartments, all available at affordable rents for individuals receiving social care support. The development will feature a range of communal facilities, including a café and landscaped gardens, and will incorporate assistive technology to help residents maintain their independence.
This project is the first in a series of affordable extra care housing developments planned across Surrey as part of the county council’s Right Homes, Right Support Strategy.
