Bristol City Council has unanimously approved Corstorphine & Wright’s 22-storey purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development on Albert Road, adjacent to the River Avon, with client Cubex Alara.
This scheme will provide 531 high-quality student residences, significantly contributing to the city’s student housing needs and supporting the University of Bristol’s expansion. This includes both shared living space and kitchen clusters, and studio spaces aimed at the University of Bristol’s postgraduate population.
A key feature of the development is the focus of the site to flood defence mechanisms and public realm enhancements. By incorporating Greenway principles, we aim to address flooding concerns proactively while promoting local biodiversity. The scheme also lays the foundation for a new boulevard along Albert Road, enhancing connectivity within the broader St Philip’s Marsh area.
