Our team were delighted to be invited to the official opening of our latest scheme in Buckie on the Moray Firth coast. In attendance were stakeholders and colleagues from the scheme as well as the Scottish First Minister, John Swinney.
Moray West Operations & Maintenance facility for our client Ocean Winds will support a 60 turbine Offshore Windfarm, creating an important new development on a harbour front location as a key step in the regeneration of the harbour and the town. The facility brings new jobs for local people, making a positive impact on the local community.
The scheme sets a high quality of design along the waterfront of Buckie. The ground floor has warehouse and workshop space with offshore crew facilities including showers, changing and a canteen. The upper floors are predominately offices and meeting rooms with the top floor housing the Offshore Control Centre. There is also direct quayside access to berthing for CTV’s.
Moray West signals a new long term purpose around renewable energy generation using the local wind resource and locally based skilled staff. The scheme complements the Moray East Windfarm site and our Operations and Maintenance Facility situated there.
