Colleen was chosen to be an industry advocate for under-represented ethnic groups and cultures within the architecture and construction sector. Being of Caribbean decent, this is an area that Colleen is especially passionate about.
Speaking to me recently, Colleen stated
“This is a fantastic opportunity to push forward the importance of diversity within the workplace. I believe that a strong presence of culture and diversity within the working environment correlates positively with our creative and imaginative design thinking. We are social beings, so it is important we design spaces, places and social hubs for ever-diversifying cities. To do this, we must strive to place a higher value on inclusivity and cultural awareness within the building and construction industry.”
