This week ParalympicsGB named their wheelchair rugby squad for Tokyo 2020 and we are extremely proud that Corstorphine & Wright’s James Roberts has been selected as part of a highly experienced team.
The countdown to the start of the games, which were moved back a year due the Coronavirus Pandemic, has begun and with less than 80 days to go, the excitement is starting to build.
This is not the first time James has competed on the world stage. He was also part of the ParalympicsGB Team competing at Rio in 2016 and will no doubt draw on his past experience as the team look to secure their first Paralympic medal.
On hearing the news James commented:
“I am very proud to be selected for my second Paralympic Games. A big thank you to Corstorphine & Wright who during the pandemic have allowed me time off to continue to train and compete, and also supporting me gain my MCIAT chartership status”.
We wish the whole team at GBWR all the very the best at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games which starts on the 24th August.
