Earlier today the client, Southwater Event Group held the ‘Golden Spanner’ ceremony (a golden bolt fixed in place with a golden spanner!)
The development, next to the Ice Rink, started on site last Autumn and is estimated to cost c.£4m. The design has no structural load-bearing columns maximising space and improving access. In addition it features “smart glass” technology enabling the outside of the building to change colour.
Located in the centre of town, it will provide six levels of car parking across three floors, accommodating 300 vehicles. This will provide parking facilities for visitors to both the events centre and the wider town centre.
