Corstorphine & Wright Supports Nyami Studio’s Initiatives in Underdeveloped Nations

Corstorphine & Wright is proud to support Nyami Studio, a new research-based design studio dedicated to advancing zero-carbon initiatives in underdeveloped nations. 

Founded by two of our talented team, Muneebah Shaheen and Froilan Palacio alongside Neil Palmer, their projects place a strong emphasis on fostering community growth both socially and economically, whilst raising awareness of the environmental footprint within the construction industry. 

Nyami Studio’s first project ‘Pakistan Under Water’ is underway and the team are due to head to the Sindh Valley region at the end of the year.  

A year after the devastating floods of 2022 in Pakistan, millions of children still need urgent aid and services. The hardest-hit areas are home to some of the country’s most vulnerable populations, including malnourished children with limited access to water, sanitation, and education. The loss of critical infrastructure has further worsened their situation, depriving them of education and healthcare.  

Nyami Studio has partnered with RIBA Gold Medallist, Yasmeen Lari, and her Heritage Foundation of Pakistan for this first project which focuses on designing and constructing a flood-resistant school in a village located in Sindh. This adaptable modular design will establish a model for the community, enabling them to construct similar facilities in nearby villages independently.
