Three Corstorphine & Wright projects have been shortlisted at the Constructing Excellence West Midlands awards for 2025.

UKBIC: Faraday 2, Coventry

This scheme has been shortlisted for Integration & Collaborative Working. The UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) Faraday 2 initiative involves expansion of the existing UKBIC process, operational and amenity facilities which Corstorphine & Wright completed in 2021. The Faraday Institution and UKBIC are both key delivery partners for the Faraday Battery Challenge. The scheme involves delivery of integrated offices, laboratories, clean & dry rooms and process specific installations within the live environment of the industrialisation centre. The Faraday 2 program continues to support the UK’s world-class battery facility, Coventry’s strong automotive sector and the national business innovation  sector that is developing the battery supply chain for our future prosperity.

Millpond House, Kidderminster

This scheme has been shortlisted for both the Delivering Value and Residential Project of the Year categories. Millpond House, located in Kidderminster, is a newly developed facility designed to provide temporary accommodation for individuals and families in transition to finding permanent homes. The facility offers 20 accommodation units, each equipped with en-suite facilities and community areas such as a shared kitchen diner, lounge areas. End apartments have been designed to be co-joined to create a multi-bedroom unit.

Unusual Rigging, Northamptonshire

This scheme has been shortlisted for Building Project of the Year. The Unusual Rigging HQ exemplifies a tailored approach to sustainability, focusing on the client’s needs related to their rigging business for theatres and events. This project is a standout for its integration of circular economy principles and low-energy design strategies aimed at achieving net zero or low carbon impact. ‘True cost’ has been considered in every design decision; that is not only the market price, but the hidden cost required to repair the social and environmental damage caused along the supply chain.

Congratulations to the clients, project teams and collaborators involved in these exceptional schemes. We look forward to learning the results at the beginning of May – best of luck to all those involved.
