Led by two of our talented team members, Muneebah Shaheen and Froilan Palacio, alongside their co founder Neil Palmer, Nyami Studio has achieved remarkable success this year, delivering two transformative projects in Pakistan.
Their flagship scheme, the Nyami Noohani School, in Sindh Pakistan, has been a huge success. In this village, where essential resources like running water and electricity are scarce, the school represents a beacon of hope and a catalyst for community-driven progress. This project is part of a broader vision led by the Heritage Foundation and Yasmeen Lari to create replicable educational models for underserved areas. Nyami’s approach prioritises local engagement, sustainability, and community empowerment.
Nyami describes the school as more than just a building. Its modular design allows other villages to replicate the model independently, while the construction process itself has focused on local capacity building. Villagers were actively involved, receiving training in construction techniques and project management. This not only created a vital place of learning in an area with no prior educational infrastructure but also generated jobs and fostered skills development. By empowering local communities to take ownership of the project, Nyami has laid the groundwork for long-term sustainability and meaningful transformation.
