The whole practice congratulates Solomon Ofoaiye on completing his architectural education and passing his Part III assessment. Solomon is based in our Birmingham studio and has shared a part of his journey and how he reached this milestone.
“Studying for my Part III qualification has been very fulfilling. The course provided vital context to the role of a competent architect within a Practice and in the wider construction industry.
It was a period of rapid personal growth; stretching myself as much as possible to ensure I covered all aspects of the Architects Registration Board criteria. This work covered both Practice experience and academic readings. This hard work had to be balanced with finding time to look after myself and still participate in the lives of the people around me.
I was driven to study architecture as arts, spaces and people fascinate me, and I find joy in creative problem-solving. Architecture allows me to explore these things whilst enabling me to contribute positively to the built environment.
My advice for anyone studying Part III: Don’t be afraid to start.
The course is set up to empower you with the knowledge needed to become a good Architect. The more you read, the easier writing and speaking gets, as best practices can always be found in books for you to refer to confidently.
Lastly, you are your best asset. How ever busy the course gets, find time to look after yourself. You’ll perform best when you feel at your best.”
