Located at junction 45 of the M1, Skelton Lake Services is operated by Extra MSA Group and features a Wildlife Visitor Centre with views across the adjacent Skelton Lake. The facility is situated at a strategic key gateway to the Leeds City Region.
Designed and delivered by Corstorphine + Wright, the MSA has employed specially fabricated glulam timber beams and high-level clerestory glazing to create a spacious and naturally lit interior. The building is crowned with a living green roof, planted with native meadow species, which connects the facility to the local landscape.
A number of outlets have already opened for business, including, Starbucks, Burger King and Texaco with further brands scheduled to open at the site soon along with a 100-bedroom Ramada Hotel.
Visitors to the MSA will have access to high quality facilities and amenities, including the latest high-powered (350kW) electric vehicle charging technology, provided by IONITY. Once fully operational later in the year, the site will also host a business centre and community area for use by local organisations.
