Four modern mews style houses in Manchester have received the green light from Manchester City Council.
Corstorphine & Wright was appointed by client, Victor (M1) Ltd, the development arm of MC Construction to design these modern townhouses on Ducie Street in the Piccadilly East neighbourhood. They will be built on the south east corner of Paradise Wharf and overlook the Ashton Canal, just a 4 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly train station. These links to the city centre, train and other transport services make it an ideal location for future residents.
Corstorphine & Wright’s design will sit within the context of refurbished warehouses and red brick structures and respect the history of the site. The design concepts will retain historical sections, maximise views across the canals as well as maintaining privacy for the residents. Each of the four houses benefits from integrated garages, open plan living spaces, balconies, and rooftop terraces over four storeys.
Our Manchester team have a further interest in this site as the studio is located in the adjacent Grade II listed ‘The Stables’ office building. It is always wonderful to be able to contribute to our local communities and see first hand the positive impact our schemes have. We look forward to seeing how this site progresses over the coming months. Work is due to start in early 2023 with practical completion expected the following year.
