The new three-storey Post-16 Centre at Etone College in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, was designed to high sustainable environmental standards to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
The initial requirement from the school was to create a brand new, state of the art facility which will respond to the educational, social and economic challenges of the 21st Century.
The centre embraces new technology, is flexible in its capacity – with an initial requirement to accommodate 250 students with the potential for future expansion – and has been built to reflect the strong family and community ethos of the college.
The exemplar facilities include Technology studios, a Performance Arts suite, cutting edge business training facilities, and ICT suites with media production capabilities.
The scheme has been built on the college grounds where the topography providing the basis of the ‘L’ shape footprint, which has been built into the natural slope of the landscape to provide a semi basement Lower Ground Floor with direct access to the main school.
