Oxford Instruments Bristol, UK
The new facility will deliver a new state-of-the-art home for Oxford Instruments’ Plasma Technology Division.
We have been appointed by Development Fund Hillwood and industry leading building operator, Oxford Instruments, to design and deliver a new advanced manufacturing facility and headquarters.
The state-of-the-art facility will deliver a new home for Oxford Instruments’ Plasma Technology division, who are currently based in a converted carpet factory in Yatton, Somerset.
Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology are a leading provider of advanced wafer processing solutions for the semiconductor industry. The relocation to a new facility is driven by the growing demand for Plasma Technology’s solutions from their customers, which include the world’s leading semiconductor device manufacturers and materials research institutions. The site, which is located near the Severn Crossing is in a strong strategic location, close to the Port at Avonmouth and linked to Wales, Bristol and the rest of the UK via the M5, M4 and M49 motorways.
After attaining a full detailed planning consent, construction began in May 2021 and is on track to be completed in Summer 2022.
The facility will be broken down into various areas, including; offices for 300 staff, ISO 5&6 class application research laboratories, production hall, aviation secure logistics, restaurant, lecture theatre and large external amenity areas and will support their leading-edge developments and enable the company to continue to innovate and attract the best talent.
The project was shortlisted for ‘Development of the Year’ and ‘Property Deal of the Year’ at the South West Insider Property Awards 2021.
