Xueqing Zhang is our most recently qualified Architect! Based in our Newcastle studio, Xueqing shares that she is excited to apply the knowledge gained from her studies to her work within the healthcare sector.
“Although it has been an intense year, passing Part III is an accomplishment I am extremely proud of after eight long years. Not only have I challenged myself on projects with Corstorphine & Wright, but I have also addressed the gaps in my knowledge as a practising professional within the construction industry.
Balancing my time has been part of the challenge and sacrifices had to be made, but the knowledge I gained in return has been invaluable. It is always satisfying when a job is completed well! Safe to say, this year has been the most educational of my entire career so far, and I am glad I took this step – though it will be nice to have more of a social life now!
I look forward to implementing my theoretical knowledge in practice, especially within the healthcare sector, which has been a very fulfilling area to work in and where I feel I can make a real difference to those in need. With the Newcastle office expanding into other sectors as well, I am excited to see what the future holds.
Thank you to everyone who helped me along the way; I truly appreciate all the time and advice that has been given to me. For anyone thinking about taking the next step, I would say be confident and take the plunge! I felt out of my depth at the start, but this year gave me the chance to really knuckle down and embrace learning.
